Up to 20,000 patients can be treated in one clinic

There are over 4,200 medical facilities in Senegal, ranging from small health huts to national hospitals. Among them, there are 1,488 clinics called health posts, many of which are located in unelectrified villages.

There are doctors and nurses who work in such facility, and many of them are alone to treat the residents of the surrounding villages. Usually one clinic covers a few dozen of kilometers of area surrounding the clinic, meaning 5,000 to 20,000 people depend on each clinic.

Most of Senegalese are Muslim, and are polygamous with a big family.  There are several polygamous families with big numbers of family members, so one village has a big community.

With the Senegalese Ministry of Health, our aim is to support the health of such community with TUMIQUI Kit.
